Tear-down: Midwood and the surrounding neighborhoods are full of awful tear-downs. These are enormous, usually terribly ugly houses built on the same tiny plots of land as all of the houses around them. Most of the tear-downs in Midwood are three stories tall and stucco, often with one story brick facades. Built to maximize square footage, the tear-downs are ungainly and cover as much of the plot as possible. I was inspired to photograph a bunch of tear-downs near my house by Flickr user Lisanne001, who lives in Gravesend and has taken a billion interesting photos of the neighborhood, including a whole album of shots of tear-downs. This is the ugliest tear-down I’ve ever seen.
